Why have a Tick Control service?

Incidence of tick borne diseases, caused by the black legged tick (aka deer tick) including Lyme, Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis and others in humans have remained at epidemic levels. The single most effective way to reduce ticks in your yard is an insecticide spray targeted at the areas likely to hold ticks.

How does it work?

The product we apply kills ticks on contact and provides residual control on the treated areas. Fortunately, unlike mosquitoes, ticks have to be carried into the yard, which means a once monthly application is sufficient.

How often?

Our program is based around the complicated life cycle of ticks. The most effective times to target the insects are with one application in the months of May, June, and September. If the Spring season is particularly warm, we will sometimes recommend an additional spray in April.

 

How are products applied?

We use a truck mounted spray tank, hose and gun sprayer. The high pressure spray gun allows for deep penetration onto the brushy and leaf covered ground of your property's perimeter.  

 

Where are products applied?

Ticks are carried into yards by deer and small animals like mice and chipmunks. For the best control we spray the lower brushy perimeter areas of your property to create a barrier where animals will pass through to enter your yard. Shady crawl spaces, like beneath decks, will also be targeted as these are common passages for small critters. It is generally not necessary to treat any open sunny areas.

 

Your application:

Upon arrival your licensed applicator will inspect your yard for toys, pets, open windows and personal belongings. A pesticide application flag will be placed to alert you of our visit. We will then complete your application. Keep off the application area until dry. An invoice with required regulatory information and return envelope will be provided. Your next application will automatically be scheduled.
